Every month we like to take an elite group of hardcore Qypers out to do something a little special.
So far we’ve been sushi and sake tasting in the shadow of Tate Modern, quaffed some classy wine courtesy of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, and made our very own chocolate treats in Notting Hill.
But last night we came upon our biggest challenge yet: knitting!
A dozen brave Qypers made their way to I Knit the ’sanctuary for knitters’ in Waterloo to spend a couple of hours learning how to cast off and purl and all those other mysterious skills.
Over the course of the evening we raided the bar (yes, a bar in a knitting shop!), ate party rings and iced gems, and attempted to get to grips with the art of the needles. It’s fair to say that some people’s needles moved a little quicker than others, but by the end everyone had a little bit of crafty goodness to take home with them and some people were definitely converted into true knitting addicts.
If you fancy a bit of knitting action yourself then we can’t recommend a trip to I Knit highly enough, the staff are fantastic and they’re open late for all your knitting needs…and, did we mention they have a bar!?

Qype has done it again with another foot-stompingly *rad* contest. The latest and greatest competition is now in full swing until the end of August, when one lucky Qyper will win an all-expense paid trip for two to Brazil!
And just to give you a taste of what’s in store:
“The days will be filled with gorgeous beaches that are perpetually sun-drenched with 30-degree temperatures all year long. In the evenings you will retire to a traditional Brazilian «pousada», a charming hotel that is situated directly on the beach.” You can read more about the trip here.
Ahhhh… beach, sunshine, relaxation, culture, and dune buggies! Quite frankly, the perfect getaway.
So you’re probably asking:
1) Where do I enter already?
2) How can I tip the scales, goshdarnit? I gotta have it! (Hint: every qualified review you write nets you an extra entry!*)
*But take heed: Write your own opinions only or all others will be annihilated by the Qype Robot. So as they say: Don’t start no stuff, won’t be no stuff!

Last night saw a merry bunch of Qype landlubbers trying out their sea legs (kind of) aboard the Battersea Barge.
This was the third official Qype party and, as usual, a good time was had by all. We even managed to sort out name tags this time so it was much easier for everyone to recognise their fellow Qypers, plus there was the usual raffle. Congratulations go to Annie Mole who won the (now traditional) oversized Chupa-Chup, and to Louis58, who scooped the top prize of a dinner for two at the Oxo Tower.
All our photos are below (if you want a closer look or leave sarcastic comments, they’re all on the Qype Flickr page), but please add your own to the Battersea Barge Qype page along with your review of the night.
As usual you can keep up to date with all our party plans over in the imaginatively titled Qype Party Group.
See you at the next one :)
