Some very exciting Qype news
We’re all very excited here at Qype HQ today as we’re able to share some news which we’ve been working towards for some time now.
Today we’re offically announcing that Qype has raised €8 million in funding from Wellington Partners, Advent Venture Partners and Partech International. This new funding will be used to help us launch Qype in even more countries across the world, as well as supporting our fantastic team of developers to make improvements across the site.
This announcement comes at a time when we’re more excited about Qype’s future than ever before. Recently we broke through the 5 million visitors per month landmark for the first time, and Qype.co.uk is now receiving over 50,000 visitors every single day.
This new round of funding also brings with it the appointment of two new non-executive board members: Pelle Tornbe, the man behind the worldwide success of Metro newspapers, and Wellington General Partner Eric Archambeau. Both men have a wealth of valuable experience behind them and we’re all looking forward to working with them both as we continue to take Qype forward.
And finally, of course, we have to say a massive ‘thank you’ to every single Qyper out there who has helped us make the site such a success over the past year or so. Your contributions are what makes Qype tick and keep us on our toes.
So thank you one and all, and here’s to the future!
