Introducing Qype Badges

One recurring bit of feedback we’ve had from Qypers over the past year or so is that once they hit Ninja level then they have nowhere else to go. And while Insiders and Ninjas are a really important part of Qype we’ve always wanted to give our community a bit more in terms of rewards and recognition.
We’ve been working on this question for a few months now and we think we’ve come up with a pretty cool solution: Qype Badges.
With Qype Badges we’ve taken the basic concept of Insiders and Ninjas and widened the whole thing out. So now you don’t have to get to 250 points before you get some profile candy. Instead you’ll get a badge when you upload photos, write first reviews for places, invite friends, get feedback from fellow Qypers, even write reviews in different languages.
Some badges are easy to get, others are a little bit more difficult; and this is just the beginning because we’ll be introducing new badges as we go, and we want your suggestions (let us know your ideas here).
If you’ve been a Qyper for a while then you’ve probably earned a few badges already. You can take a look at your personal badge page here to see what you’ve got and what other badges you still have to unlock.
For more information about badges take a look at this page. You can click on any individual badge icon to find out more about a particular badge. And if you’ve got questions about how it all works there’s a thread for that here.

These badges would also lend themselves well to a categorised ‘European Awards’ type ceremony, what do you think?
