Your new Qype Dashboard

One of the biggest project we’ve been working on here at Qype in 2010 has been the improvement of the My Qype page. We wanted to make your Qype landing page more useful, more personalised, and more social. After a few months of hard work and testing we’re happy to announce the launch of the Qype Dashboard: a brand new homepage that combines tailored recommendations with a bespoke snapshot of your city.

The main feature of the Qype Dashboard is the personalised City Feed: a stream of recommendations, suggestions and contact alerts designed to offer you a real time, local news feed so you can easily share and discover the great places near you.

While you can use your City Feed to track the most popular places in your area as well as follow tips and recommendations from your Qype network, we’ve also included the Taste Neighbour and Place Recommendation tools: two smart bits of software that sit on your homepage and scour the Qype community looking for people who share your likes and dislikes to offer you personalised tips based on that information. The more you review, the more recommendations you’ll get!

The City Feed shows your home town by default but if you want to see what’s going on in a specific area then just click the ‘Add a new location’ button and type in the name of an area (see screenshot below). Maybe you’ll want to take a look at the Didsbury stream if you’re in Manchester, the Soho feed if you’re in London, or the Paris feed if you’re planning a weekend break. That location will be saved to your profile so you can select it whenever you come back to your Dashboard.

If you have any questions about how to get the most out of your Qype Dashboard, or if you have any ideas of new features we should add then there’s a thread right here, or you can leave a comment on this blog post.
