Introducing the latest Qype app for Android and BlackBerry
The latest version of the Qype app for Android and BlackBerry users has just been released, and we’ve added even more ways for you to keep in touch with friends when you’re out and about.
The updated check-in function now allows you to share where you are with your Qype and Facebook friends, and see places that your Qype and Facebook friends have been.

I’ve been using this app with Android on my new Samsung Galaxy Apollo. It works well and I’ve been out checking-in to pubs and cafes around Fitzrovia this afternoon. At times the gps pick-up in Fitzrovia is a bit flaky. But this is not a problem with the app. Foursquare, which I’ve been directly comparing it with also has problems.
But unlike Foursquare, Qype has much better venue accuracy. There are fewer duplicate venues and it is much easier to clean them up than with Foursquare.
Fitzrovia News will be promoting this app on our forthcoming Fitzrovia Crawl http://www.fitzrovia.org.uk/crawl and encouraging people to check-in to Fitzrovia’s pubs with it.
With Android phones now available for less than £90 this is a must have app for Qypers.
